This toy is just awesome! This is a toy for everyone, all ages. Adult, child, whatever! This is a must have for anyone. The only problem is, the flame in the back of Kranxx's ship keeps falling off. It took me about 5-10 hours to build it. It is a pure master peace of Lego.

Since the Power Miner sets and story started being featured in all of the lego club member catalogues and magazines, it hit the top of the must-have list for my 10-yr. old lego nut (knocking out, at least temporarily Star Wars, Transformers, and Indiana Jones). Although he used his allowance to purchase this one and the usually cheaper Stone Chopper (for some reason it currently costs more on Amazon), this is your best bet for a good under $10, starter Power Miner set.

- It has all the necessary ingredients for playing and imagination power: figurine, rock monster with crystal, accessory (mining pick) combined with a substantial versatiile mining vehicle.

- It combines with the Stone Chopper (using instructions found on the legos site) to make a larger piece. (Apparently, this is big deal with Lego nuts - and both can be found for less than $20). As a side note, other sets that can be combined to make larger more powerful pieces include: 1) LEGO Granite Grinder/Thunder Driller and 2) LEGO Claw Digger and Crystal Sweeper.

Bottom Line: My 10-year old nephew put his hard-earned allowance against it after weighing many options (endlessly), and is happy with the choice and it's still providing endless playing power.

The age range is 5-12 years old so I figured he would be able to put his truck together. He couldn't even begin to do this by himself and he is a really smart kid! I ended up putting the truck together with his help. He really likes the truck and it is really cool the way the rear portion lifts up, but unfortunately it breaks apart with the slightest bit of pressure. That being said.... it is a cool truck and LEGOs are wonderful toys that work on a child's fine motor skills. This is a cool little Indy set, and makes a good display piece. The trap wall mechanism is cool, but the 'hideout' for the crystal skull behind the conquistador should be closed off. Could also use some more scorpions. As for play value, the boy and I could only get so much out of it, since there's not much room for an encounter with the native guards. Much shorter than the scene in the movie. We combined our's with the hideout and trees in the Jungle Cutter set, as well as a green baseplate, for a little more real estate. Don't let that disuade you, overall, if you're collecting, this one's a must.

Pros - It's Indy. Scorpions. Cool trap wall and dead conquistador. More bad guys is always a good thing.

It's probably one of the most durable Lego sets we've ever purchased. It even took being slammed up against a wall without breaking! For starters, this set has 4 whole minifigures, including Indy, Marion, and two bad guys. That's a lot of little Lego guys for a set in this price range, and one of them is even a girl, quite a rare specimen in Legoland! There are also lots of unusual and interesting accessory pieces... My kids (7 & 8yrs old) are Lego fanatics, and this is their favorite set so far. I bought this along with a Lego Community Workers set and they have spent hours playing with it! They have set up a skate and bike shop - the friendly mechanic there sells bikes, helmets, and skateboards, fixes wheels and also services the bus. There is a pizza shop where friends meet and Moms and Dads have date nights (LOL), the place is always packed. The bus stop is always busy with people waiting. The bus is amazing and can hold many people.

I love the educational value of this set. It is hard to find real-world role playing toys for boys so they can act out real life situations. I highly recommend getting the City Corner and the Community Worker minifigure set together. Now we are deciding what other places we will build - like a school, a grocery store, a hospital. The City Corner can be the jumping-off point for building your entire Lego city!

You can't beat Legos for durability. I know these toys will be in my family for as long as they are wanted.

My son recently chose this toy. He had an easy time putting it together, though the treads were difficult. One thing I note is this is a very light model, I would almost say flimsy. It has very few Lego/Technic pieces, with a huge percent of of the 216 piece count is the individual pieces of tread. There really wasn't that much to build. It also doesn't lend itself to piece scavenging as much of some of the other kits do, e.g. there are no wing pieces.

LEGO Star Wars The Battle of Endor (8038) Review

This is without a doubt the worst design I have experienced from Lego. It's so poor I'm embarrassed for them. I was a faithful Lego lover in the 80's when I was a child, and am now enjoying them again with my son. We have nearly every Lego Star Wars and Indiana Jones set and most of them are decently thought out constructions, this one however, is not (the Temple of Doom is a poor design too, stay away from that set also).

Many of the large pieces and even sections are held together by just one or two Lego dots, if you gently lift and rotate it to an upside down position, or attempt to carefully transport it, there is little chance it will hold together. You may have been lucky to have gotten pieces that fit slightly more tightly than our set, when held upside down ours definitely slips apart. My son was not able to put this set together, and I enjoyed putting it together about as much as I have enjoyed constructing tedious models.

This set is not designed to the standard that I expect Lego to maintain. There is a reason why Lego is more expensive than Mega Blocks or any other Lego impostor, and it's because they have maintained a high standard over the years. This set is not at that standard. The only good thing about this set is that it does come with a lot of figures. The catapult is pretty good also.

Just an excellent lego model. Very sturdy and solid in it's construction (pieces don't easily come off). Well thought out. More lego models should be like this for playability.

The Lego Town Plan is the coolest Lego set I've seen in years. This set is what helped me decide to collect Lego's again, after being a huge Lego Maniac back in the 1980's. I can't help but think about how much fun I would have had with this set as a kid.

What you get is well worth the money spent. We're not talking huge buildings here, but you really can't go wrong, and would be a great start (or addition) to any Lego Town. The retro design is so cool, it looks like they come right out of the 50's!

I'd say out of the three buildings, the gas station is the one with the most play value. The detachable gas pump island allows you to place the pumps anywhere, although it would have been cool to have them be more stationary so they aren't in the middle of the road...etc. The garage is cool, comes with a sliding garage door and a bunch of tools, as well as the car wash (only smaller cars will fit in the garage and car wash). The snack shop comes with food in a display case and cash register.

The movie theater also has incredible detail, from the "Cinema" sign and marquee out front, to the soda and popcorn stand on the inside. Plenty of room and comfy seats for at least 5-6 minifigs to catch the western playing on the big screen. I maybe would have designed the ticket booth out front a bit different, but that's neither here nor there.

The town hall has a cool outer facade, and the fountain is cool as well. I purchased a seperate green Lego base plate and put the town hall on one end of the plate, with the fountain in the middle, like a park. The interior of the town hall leaves something to be desired, but I think the outer facade is the best feature. The flowers do pop off quite easily, but it's no big deal.

The blue roadster that comes with the set is very cool as well. It's a tight fit for minifigs, but a very cool car indeed.

All told, a very cool set. If you aren't a fan of stickers, well, it comes with quite a few stickers. There are no pre-labeled pieces, so if you look at the set, anything with lettering you have to apply. But again, no big deal. Just time consuming if you're a perfectionist.

Again, worth the money. Your town just isn't complete without it!

This was a gift for my daughter's fourth birthday. The box of LEGOs comes with loads of basic building blocks plus a horse, person, wheels, and several other components to build cars, houses, flowers, etc. There is also an instruction booklet to help your child get building. Even my daughter can look at the pictures and figure out what pieces she needs although she may not always get them put together correctly. There is one flat, building platform included but I think LEGO should have included a couple more of the building platforms. At first, she didn't really know where to start as there are so many pieces but we sat down and started building and now she can build tons of things on her own. Overall, I think this is a basic, great gift that will help your child develop her spatial concepts and a further understanding of how the concepts of symmetry and gravity work (e.g., a table needs 4 legs to stay standing, a house needs 4 walls to build a roof across the top, etc.).
